Model: Onoto 5600/34
Color: grey shell/transparent
Materials: celluloid with nickel-plated trim

Nib: FLEXIBLE 14k Onoto #2 nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF line that widens to a 3B+ (approx. 1.5mm) under moderate pressure.
Condition: excellent. Hard rubber parts retain their factory black color. White metal clip is clean aside from some minor wear on the left edge. Excellent barrel and cap transparency. Celluloid has a smooth, lustrous finish with no deep scratches or other noteworthy blemishes - scarcely even any microscratches. Manufacturer imprints are deep and fully legible.
Details: Introduced in 1905, De La Rue’s Onoto pen was the original plunger-filler – long before Sheaffer’s and Eversharp’s version in the 1930s. And it remained in production for 50 years. To fill simply unscrew the filler knob, extend the plunger rod, submerse the nib, and drive the plunger rod home in one smooth, steady stroke. Onotos like this one incorporate an ink-shut-off valve. When the filler knob is screwed all the way down, the plunger piston cuts off ink flow to the feed, preventing the pen from ever leaking into the cap. In order to ensure consistency of ink flow while writing, it is recommended to unscrew the blind cap part of a turn.
