Vintage: 1935
Make: Parker
Model: Parkette Deluxe
Color: Black
Materials: Celluloid, nickel-plated trim
Filling System: Lever filler (resacced and guaranteed to fill to factory capacity)
Length: This full-sized model measures 5” capped.
Nib: Semi-Flexible 14k two-tone Parkette nib lays down a smooth and consistent F line that widens to a 3B+ (approx 1.4mm) under moderate pressure.
Condition: Chromium trim is cleaner than the vast majority of these but does show microscratches and a spot of brassing at the bottom of the lever under a loupe. Celluloid has a smooth, lustrous surface with no deep scratches or other notable flaws. Manufacturer imprint and date code on barrel are factory deep and fully legible.
Details: The Parkette Deluxe is an unusual and unusually scarce model. It’s essentially a Parkette with some dramatic changes to the design. First, the cap and barrel are of a faceted construction like Eversharp’s Doric. Second, it has a deluxe trim configuration with triple cap bands like a Vacumatic Standard as well as decorative metal bands on the ends (these would later be changed to white rings). Finally, again like the Vac Std, it’s equipped with a two-tone nib. Research has confirmed that whereas later Deluxes would be equipped with Two-Tone SS nibs, the April 1935 catalogue describes Deluxe models as having gold nibs.
