Vintage: 1936

Make: Parker

Model: Vacumatic Standard (1st generation Vacumatic)

Color: Silver Pearl (with transparent barrel striations)

Materials: Celluloid, nickel-plated trim

Filling System: Vacumatic lockdown filler (fully overhauled with a new diaphragm and guaranteed to fill and write as designed without leaks). To fill, one simply removes the blindcap, twists the plunger to unlock and extend it, submerses the nib, and depresses the plunger until the barrel is full.

Length: This full-length, standard girth, 1st generation model measures 5 1/16” capped.

Nib: Semi-Flexible 14k Two-Tone Vac Arrow nib lays down a smooth and consistent F line that widens to a 3B or so (approx 1.3mm) under moderate pressure

Condition: The only full-fledged brassing to the nickel-plated trim is limited to a sliver around the edge of the blind cap tassie. But the trim does show microscratches that have dulled its original luster here and there, particularly on the clip tassie. Nib also shows wear to the rhodium plating that is less obvious in person than in the photos. Celluloid has a smooth and lustrous surface with no deep scratches or other notable flaws aside from a scratch on the section on the feed side. Fair barrel transparency of an amber color with ink level visible when held to a bright light. Manufacturer imprint and date code on the barrel are deep and fully legible.

Details: This Silver Pearl Vac Standard has all the deluxe features of a 1st-gen Vac: triple nickel-plated cap bands, metal lockdown filler, matching striped section, and striped double jewels.
