Vintage: 1946
Make: Parker
Model: Vacumatic Major
Color: Emerald Pearl
Materials: Celluloid, gold-plated trim
Filling System: Vacumatic filler (fully restored with new diaphragm and guaranteed to fill to capacity without leaks or other problems).
Length: This full-sized 3rd-generation model measures 5 1/8” capped.
Nib: 14k Vac Arrow nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF line.
Condition: Gold-plated trim is clean with no brassing aside from one hairsbreadth sliver along the bottom edge of the 1/3 of the cap band visible under a loupe. Excellent transparency of a light orange color makes the ink-level readily visible when pen is held to light. Celluloid surface is smooth and lustrous with no deep scratches or other noteworthy blemishes. Manufacturer imprint on barrel is weakened on the right side but legible aside from the date code, which is worn away.
Details: The Major was a step up from the Junior, having more generous trim and carrying Parker's lifetime guarantee.
