Vintage: c.1930
Make: Parker
Model: Lady Duofold Streamlined
Color: Lapis Lazuli (blue-on-blue)
Materials: celluloid with gold-plated trim
Filling System: button-filler (resacced and guaranteed to fill and write as designed)
Length: 4 1/2” capped and 5 3/4” posted.
Nib: 14k Duofold nib produces a Stubby F line (not a full-fledged stub but yields down-strokes slightly wider than cross-strokes)
Condition: Gold-plated trim pristine apart from the typical sliver of brassing on the clip ball – no other notable flaws. Celluloid surface is smooth and lustrous with no deep scratches or other noteworthy blemishes. Some darkening to the barrel in comparison with the cap. Black hard rubber parts are factory black with no discernible fading. Manufacturer imprint on barrel is factory deep and fully legible.
Details: The pen is made of Permanite (DuPont's proprietary celluloid) in what curiously resembles the Lapis blue-on-blue color that was presumably phased out on the Duofold in c.1928. Blind cap, clip lock, and section are black hard rubber. Slightly streamlined profile, which Parker is said to have introduced c.1929 in response to the trend popularized by Sheaffer's Balance. This pen is a button filler To fill, simply unscrew the blind cap, submerse the nib, and depress the brass button once
