Length: This is a standard-sized set with FP measuring a hair under 5 1/2” capped.

Nib: 14k Two-Tone Sheaffer Lifetime nib has a slightly upturned point from the factory in the “Waverly” style to enhance smoothness. It lays down a smooth and consistent XF line.

Condition: Near-mint. This set resembles a time capsule relic that’s seen little, if any, use. Gold-plated trim is pristine with no brassing or other notable flaws. Celluloid surface is smooth and lustrous with no deep scratches or other noteworthy blemishes – scarcely any microscratches. Manufacturer imprints on barrel of FP and cap of MP are factory deep and fully legible. MP is fully functional, expelling, retracting, and gripping lead as designed. Box is in great shape aside from having lost the elastic strings that hold the FP and MP. 

Details: Matching FP and MP come in their factory original box. The Statesman was one step down in size from the oversized Balance Premier but was sold for the same price ($10.00). This one is made of Golden Brown striated celluloid complemented by gold-plated furniture. Streamlined radius clip, white dot signifying Sheaffer's lifetime guarantee, and transparent ink-view section window for checking ink level.
